Dr. Andrew Farkas is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology. As a board-certified dental implant specialist, he offers extensive experience in comprehensive and surgical dental care in Santa Barbara, California.
He graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry at Houston, Texas with an additional certificate in the program of Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). He completed his accredited 300-hour AAID, American Academy of Implant Dentistry continuum at Loma Linda University in California. This implantology specialty program provides a thorough understanding of diagnostic and treatment modalities necessary to properly treat patients with dental implants. His implant dentistry skills include: dental implant placement for a single tooth, multiple teeth, full arch, all-on-four, sinus / gum / bone grafting and sinus augmentation. He is certified in IV and oral sedation administration along with ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
After dedicating twenty-four years to his private practice located in Houston, Texas and completing the sale of ownership to his associate in late 2020, Dr. Andrew Farkas founded Smile Implantology. Implant dentistry consisted of thirty percent of his practice production and collections prior to its sale. His Houston practice was regarded with a ‘Black Belt’ designation; an esteemed honor from The Dental Success Institute, meaning his production, collections and profitability were in the top 5% of practicing dentists in the country. Dr. Farkas offers the highest level of care using the most advanced technology in dentistry today, while maintaining an impeccable reputation of excellence. Smile Implantology launches off on his vast experience in private, comprehensive dentistry, with a focus specific to implant dentistry. Replacing missing teeth with dental implants is his most rewarding work.
Completing over seven hundred hours of continuing education in the past three years alone, Dr. Farkas continually researches and implements available technologies for optimum procedural success. This tremendous investment in himself as a practitioner is why he is referred to as a ‘Super-Dentist’, with the ability to perform both general and advanced dental procedures.
Dr. Farkas is married to his high school sweetheart, Karen Lantz, an award-winning architect. She brings her skill and experience to support her husband’s implantology practice with business and design insight. When not working, this duo enjoys world-wide travel, great food and wine with a dash of architectural site seeing for good measure. As life-long athletes, they both enjoy cycling, swimming and golf.
